11 Festive Holiday Cocktails & Mocktails
I can appreciate a good creative cocktail every once in awhile... You can make these any time you are in the mood…not just for the holidays.
Here is a short curated a list of my favorite holiday cocktails. Both spirited and non-spirited (non-alcoholic).
Coco Berry
2 oz White rum
½ oz Chambord
½ oz Dark creme de cacao
4 raspberries
Ice
Preparation:
Step 1: Add raspberries, Chambord to the mixing glass
Step 2: Muddle gently
Step 3: Add ice cubes, white rum, white creme de cacao to the mixing glass
Step 4: Stir together
Step 5: Strain into the cocktail glass
Cranberry Amaretto
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Vodka
½ oz Fresh orange juice
4 oz Cranberry juice
Preparation:
Step 1: Fill up the shaker with ice cubes,
Step 2: Pour Amaretto, vodka, cranberry and orange juice into the shaker.
Step 3: Shake well.
Step 4: Strain into the glass with ice
Step 5: Garnish with a slice of orange and fresh cranberries, if desired.
Marita’s Alexander
1 1/2 oz dark rum
1 oz dark creme de cacao
1 1/2 oz milk
Crushed ice
Preparation:
Step 1: Add dark rum, dark creme de cacao, milk, crushed ice into a blender
Step 2: Blend
Step 3: Pour into cocktail glass
Faux Nog
1 oz Vodka
1 oz White creme de cacao
2 oz Heavy cream
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Ice cubes
Nutmeg
Preparation:
Step 1: Fill up the Shaker with ice cubes
Step 2: Pour Vodka, white creme de cacao, heavy cream and angostura bitters into the shaker
Step 3: Shake well
Step 4: Fill up a glass with crushed ice
Step 5: Strain into the cocktail glass
Step 6: Garnish with nutmeg
Chocolate Punch
1 oz Cognac
½ oz Ruby Port
½ oz Dark creme de cacao
½ oz Simple syrup
1 oz Heavy cream
Nutmeg
Ice
Preparation:
Step 1: Fill up the Shaker with ice cubes
Step 2: Pour Cognac, Ruby Port, dark creme de cacao, simple syrup, heavy cream into the shaker
Step 3: Shake well
Step 4: Strain into the cocktail glass
Step 5: Garnish with nutmeg
Pomegranate Martini
1 oz Citrus Vodka
½ oz Orange Liqueur
2 oz Pomegranate juice
Lime wedge
Preparation:
Step 1: Fill up the Shaker with ice cubes
Step 2: Pour vodka, orange liqueur and pomegranate juice into the shaker
Step 3: Shake well
Step 4: Strain into the cocktail glass
Step 5: Squeeze lime wedge over drink and drop in.
MOCKTAIL RECIPES (non-alcoholic)
Citrus Cream
2 oz orange juice
1 oz of grapefruit juice
½ oz simple syrup
½ oz grenadine
1 oz heavy cream
Ice cubes
Preparation:
Step 1: Fill up the shaker with ice cubes,
Step 2: pour orange juice, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, grenadine, heavy cream, into the shaker.
Step 3: Shake well.
Step 4: Strain into the glass
Madras Mia
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz orange juice
1 oz club soda
Ice cubes
Preparation:
Step 1: Add ice to the Collins Glass
Step 2: Pour cranberry juice, orange juice, and club soda
Step 3: Garnish with lemon wedge
Mister Oxford
1 oz lemon juice
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz coconut milk
1 oz orgeat syrup
Ice
Preparation:
Step 1: Add ice to the old fashioned glass
Step 2: Add ice to the Shaker
Step 3: Pour lemon juice pineapple juice or shot syrup into the Shaker
Step 4: Shake well
Step 5: Strain into the old fashioned glass
Step 6: Garnish with nutmeg
The Liquid Muse
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz of grapefruit juice
½ oz of lime juice
Splash of cranberry juice
Splash club soda
Ice cubes
Preparation:
Step 1: Add ice cubes to the Shaker
Step 2: Pour pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice, cranberry juice, into the shaker.
Step 3: Shake well
Step 4: Strain into the cocktail glass
Step 5: Top with club soda
Blueberry Julep
7 oz ginger beer
20 blueberries
6 mint leaves
4 lemon wedges
1 tsp sugar
Crushed ice
Preparation:
Step 1: Add blueberries, mint leaves, lemon wedge, sugar to shaker
Step 2: Muddle blueberries, mint leaves, lime wedges and sugar
Step 3: add crushed ice into an old fashioned glass
Step 4: Pour muddled ingredients into the old fashioned glass
Step 5: Pour ginger beer into the old fashioned glass
Step 6: Garnish with mint leaves, and lime wedge
