Exfoliants

Some would consider exfoliation as one of the most important treatments for your skin. This is the process of removing dead and dull skin cells from the skin. Proper exfoliation leaves behind a smoother and more radiant complexion.

There are two types of exfoliation: Manual (physical) and chemical.

Manual exfoliation uses granular ingredients such as jojoba beads or blue cornmeal to aid in the process. As you massage these elements over the skin, the friction gently removes those dead skin cells. This type of exfoliation is great for sensitive skin types and those just starting out with an exfoliating program.

Chemical exfoliation uses alpha hydroxy acids (aha’s) and beta hydroxy acids (bha) such as glycolic, salicylic or lactic acid to help with the removal of the dead skin cell buildup.
